from whom are they taking the lead?
does that mean that the previous leader is not leading anymore?
moses is used as an example when he appointed "chiefs" over different groups of isrealites.
Mark 13 21-23
"Then, too, if anyone says to YOU, ‘See! Here is the Christ,’ ‘See! There he is,’ do not believe [it]. 22 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the chosen ones. 23 YOU, then, watch out; I have told YOU all things beforehand.
Hebrews 13 reminded early Christians to first evaluate the results before following the leader: 7
7 Remember those who are taking the lead among YOU, who have spoken the word of God to YOU, and as YOU contemplate how [their] conduct turns out imitate [their] faith.
as jws, we were in bondage to the organization, its rules and its whims.
now, we do not have to follow their direction and believe that whatever we were being told was by "theocratic" arrangement.. so, what freedoms do you have now that you have been liberated?.
The freedom to live AND die as I please!
didn't know if this has been addressed before , but it's kinda interesting.
when we were witnesses we were always told,oh!
don't look at horoscopes or read anything about your sign because it's demonized !

i have spent literally hundreds of hours discussing with the c.o.
or other elders how some of us elders disagreed with a certain elders' actions and what could be done about it.
or that a certain elder was doing a certain thing, or acting a certain way.
The Elder arrangement is little more than a system of quid-pro-quo political negotiation. One elder sponsors a motion and expects the others to go along with it. In exchange when another elder brings a matter to the floor the remainder of the body will acquiesce. The war begins when one elder has been bobble-heading for the others and suddenly meets resistance on his motion. How this game affects the flock is of little interest to the the Rascals in the club house.
did you display i do not care attitude at your judicial committee?
or do you know someone that did not care at all at jc?
i would care especially since i have jw family still in, but if i did not have any jw family in, i would refuse to accept the invitation to jc..
Any JC meetng is held by those selected for fitting the qualifications set forth in 1 Timothy :3. It's noteworthy to me that these qualifications say little about "caring for others.' Rather, they encourage one who is reaching out to look good in the eyes of others. Sooo ... if anyone enters a JC meeting with a do not care attitude, at least all in attendance share the same mindset!
i suppose the english word "love" has many meanings according to individual needs and experience.
the questions are for me: if love is unilateral or an interactive relationship?
is unrequited love none-the-less rewarding?
It's exciting for me to read the variety of international answers!!!

I suppose the English word "love" has many meanings according to individual needs and experience. The questions are for me: if love is unilateral or an interactive relationship? Is unrequited love none-the-less rewarding? . Can one be "in love" while the object of their affection remains neutral or disinterested? Do we love because it makes us feel good about ourselves regardless of the feelings of others?
hello ex-elders, onthe wayout, snakes, and wilyloman, just to refresh about a month ago i told you all that the appeal committee had overturned the disfellowshipping decision by the original jc as the appeal committee got a hold of me by phone and told me the society gave them direction in this.
i have since explained the situation to my witness mom and dad, 80 &82, they are good with it.
i am taking copies of the counsel you ex elders gave to me to be careful about what i say at this "alleged encouragement" meeting and promise you this, i'll watch my words carefully when they ask me questions.
Dear Flipper:
Now that you are past that, does this particular meeting and interchange with the elders put you any nearer closure or do you imagine there may be more such necessary discussions or appeals?
